Looking back:
Serving you and your community
Being a local company means we can get closer to you, our customers, and find out what you think. It’s important - after all, many of us live around here too. So here are a few things you asked us about that we’ve done recently.
Looking forward:
What you can expect to see
There’s still more for us to do, so we’re not standing still. We asked over 6,000 of you to tell us what was most important to you, to help us plan for the future of Hafren Dyfrdwy.
You told us that your priorities are a reliable day-to-day service, support for customers, and more protection for the local environment. So this is what you’re going to see:
Your Hafren Dyfrdwy water bill
Whether you’re turning on the tap, stepping into the shower, or loading the washing machine, we want to make your daily life as easy, safe, and comfortable as possible. As you’ll have read in the newsletter, we’re investing to give you the best service today, tomorrow, and well into the future.
We want to be open and honest with you. To do all this, we need to increase customer bills. Your next bill, which will be issued in February or March, will show this. Nobody likes to see bills rising, but we’re going to do what we can to give you value for money. You will be paying for real long-term improvements in service.
Our bills remain the lowest in Wales and the third lowest across England and Wales. And even with the planned increases over the next five years, we aim to keep our bills among the lowest by 2030. It matters to us that no one worries about paying their water bill. If you think you might need help, please get in touch so we can talk to you about the support you need.
Make the switch:
Get a free water meter and you have two years to decide.
Many of our customers have found using a water meter helps them to keep their bills lower. Not sure if it’s right for you? Don’t worry. You can try a water meter and have two years to decide. If it’s not for you, you can switch back to unmetered billing. Find out more about switching to a meter, or call 0330 678 0679.

Mr. Brown’s big savings
Despite living alone, Mr Brown of Wrexham was paying over £600 a year. A quick chat with Lucy, one of our Community Connectors showed he could halve his bill by switching to a water meter; he saved £300. Mr. Brown was thrilled:
"With the cost of living crisis, if you can save money by getting a meter installed, it’s worth it."
