Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund supports more community projects in Wrexham

Thursday 20 June 2022

The Hafren Dyfrdwy (HD) Community Fund has recently awarded its second round of grants and has now awarded over £50,000 in funding to support community projects over the past year, as part of the water company’s commitment to support local communities in their region.

One of the latest projects supported by the Fund is based in Wrexham and has been awarded over £8,000 to support the residents of Caia Park Estate.

Caia Park Partnership is a community development organisation and charity which provides a range of services for the residents of the Caia Park estate. They work with local people to provide activities, services and facilities that support the regeneration of the estate, with an ambition to enable local people of all ages to achieve their potential.

The Partnership already provides an Older People's Centre, a Day Care Nursery, a youth department, family support services, a community cafe, woodwork department, training rooms and community outdoor space.

Jade Gough from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund said: “The HD Community Fund was set up to allow us to give back to our wonderful customers and communities, through supporting new projects in our region that can make a real difference.

“Caia Park Partnership is a wonderful organisation that is working tirelessly to improve the services of the local surroundings and provide a place people are proud to call home.  We’re passionate about wellbeing in the communities we serve and are thrilled to support them in reviving their outside community space, so they can fully utilise the areas for community use, offering a pleasant, safe space for people to interact, upskill, develop support networks and improve their wellbeing.”

Caia Park Partnership said: “The Caia Park Partnership is delighted to receive the funding from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund. This will enable us to expand our training facilities, while also offering a pleasant, safe place for the community to utilise for social activities. Thank you so much.”

Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Community Fund was created for new projects that aim to improve community wellbeing.
