Extra support on offer for Hafren Dyfrdwy customers

29th January 2025

Hafren Dyfrdwy is reminding customers of the range of support that is available when it comes to paying their water bill.

The company has a number of different schemes available to provide help to those customers who need it.

Financial support from Hafren Dyfrdwy includes WaterSure, for customers on low income but must use a lot of water, and the Here2Help scheme, where customers could get up to 70% off their bill. Payment plans are also available to help customers make their bills more manageable.

Louise Moir, Hafren Dyfrdwy Customer Experience Lead, said: “We want to make sure that all Hafren Dyfrdwy customers know what help, advice and support is out there for them.

“We have lots of options available for those who may now find themselves in different circumstances, and we also provide additional services to those who may benefit from being on our Priority Services Register.”

As well as the financial support, there is also the Here to Help Hub, which is a one stop shop of advice about everything from support with bills to what other help is available for customers.

The website signposts visitors to all the extra support that is available for them including ways to pay bills, details on water meters, the Priority Services Registers and much more.

A function that has also been introduced on the website as part of the hub is the ‘Better Off Calculator’, which provides a full holistic assessment of people’s current circumstances.

At the end of the assessment, it will tell them which Hafren Dyfrdwy scheme is right for them, whether they are entitled to any Government benefits, additional support through other utilities and lots more.

The company also encourages customers to see if they are eligible for its Priority Services Register, if they feel they would benefit from a more personalised service. The register helps identify any vulnerable customers or those with medical conditions and offers a wide range of support.

The register also helps anyone who would benefit from having their bills in a different format, such as braille, or a different language, so they can receive a better, tailored service.

Ian is a customer in Powys who was accepted on the Here2Help scheme in January 2024 and recently completed a re-application to stay on the programme for another year.

He has qualified for a 70% reduction which has nearly halved his bill, and he said: “I've saved half the amount of my water bill, which means every little penny helps be it with heating or food.”

Hafren Dyfrdwy provides a water only service in Wrexham and parts of Denbighshire and Flintshire and both a water and wastewater service in Powys.
